The current committee of the Board of Directors of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) will work with Bangladeshi embassies abroad and government policy makers to create new markets abroad.
At the first meeting of the new executive committee held at the organization’s Chittagong office on Sunday at noon with its president K. M. Selim Osman MP in the chair.
He said the new committee of the board of directors would take initiatives to increase vehicle fares and reduce container fares for transporting goods. In addition, the current BKMEA committee will take steps to provide financial assistance to small garment owners in Corona who have suffered losses, to help garment owners get long-term low-interest loans and to address any important contemporary issues related to the garment sector.
At the beginning of the meeting, he thanked all the board members of BKMEA for attending the first meeting in Chittagong and said that Chittagong is the heart of business and trade.
