Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Narsingdi region has disbursed Taka 34.28 crore as agricultural loan among 3,925 farmers through its 21 branches in the district during the last seven months of the current financial year.
Official sources said BKB earmarked Taka 70 crore for disbursement of loan in the region for the current fiscal year. The percentage of loan disbursement stands 49 percent on January 31 (seven months).
Meanwhile, the bank realized Taka 42 crore from 5,738 clients against the total target of Taka 109 crore this year.
Deputy General Manager of BKB Gokul Chandra Roy said the BKB generally disburse agricultural loan for crop cultivation, pisciculture, livestock sector, setting of poultry farm, purchasing of agriculture equipments, small trading, marketing of agricultural product and socio-economic developments activities.
