Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) and Chittagong Abahani played out a 1-1 goal draw in the 2nd phase of Nitol Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Friday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Team BJMC were very close to score in the first minute of match but forward Nabib Nawaj Jibon failed to score as his shot was saved by Ctg Abahani goalie Nahid Uddin.
BJMC were disappointed in the 36th minute when their Nigerian midfielder Samson Iliasu’s volley shot hit the side post on corner of Nigerian midfielder Uche Felix.
However, Guineas forward Ismail Bangoura broke the deadlock for Team BJMC in the 77th minute. Defender Mahmudul Hasan curved a cross to middle of the box where forward Nabib Nawaz Jibon received the ball and passed it to Ismail Bangoura who shot straight to the net. (1-0)
Chittagong tg Abahani leveled the match in the 85th minute through their midfielder Abdul Hannan. Forward Sohel sent a cutback to midfielder Abdul Hannan whose angular left footer hit in the far post and crossed into the goal line (1-1).
With the day’s outcome, BJMC took their tally to 19 points from 17 matches while Chittagong Abahani,s collection was 9 points from the same number of matches.
