Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) team recorded a 3-2 goals victory over Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the second phase of the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Tuesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
In the day’s match, Team BJMC went ahead in the 14th minutes from a spot kick. Mohammedan’s Nigerian defender Baybeck fouled BJMC’s Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura in the danger zone and Bangoura made no mistake to convert the spot kick (1-0).
Mohammedan restored the parity also from a penalty in the 30th minutes. Ossuseni Zongo, the Burkina Faso forward, was brought down by BJMC defender Shahnur Rahman Rony and referee pointed to the penalty spot. Nigerian midfielder Damien Chigozie scored from the penalty (1-1).
Mohammedan went up ahead in the 47th minutes after forward Wahed took control off a weak clearance of BJMC defence and slotted home with a left footer (2-1).
But, in the 81st s BJMC’s Nigerian midfielder Samson Iiiyasu headed an Abdullah Parvez cross into the near post (2-2).
In the stoppage time of the second half, Abdulah Parvez curved a dipping shot from 40 yards after watching Mohammedan goalie Mamun Khan out of position (3-2).
