Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authourity will launch Eid special service-from today to June 12, 2019.
Azmal Huda Mithu Sarkar, Deputy Director ( River Safety and Traffic Management) of BITA Barishal office and river port officer, giving this information said during this 14-day special service drive freedom fighters, senior citizens and disable persons, pregnant women would be exempted from paying entrance fee and given preferences to enter inside the port terminal.
They also be given preference and help for embarkations and disembarkations on river transports, safely enter and stay inside the terminal during the special service fortnight.
Special washroom facilities, free wheel chair and stretchers for the physically disabled and sick passengers, special breast feeding room for mothers would also be provided for the river transport passengers during the special service fortnight, he added. Service for pure drinking water supply, mobile phone charging points, medical team, ambulance transportations, security, salvage, diving teams of civil defense and fire service, law enforcing agencies and BIWTA would also be prepared to response any emergency call.
