Staff Reporter :
Shivering cold coupled with dense fog is disrupting life in Dhaka city as temperature sharply fell at night. Most part of the district went under a blanket of thick fog since morning.
The bone chilling cold is caused by the cloudy weather in Dhaka and its adjacent areas and other divisions for the last couple of hours. The severity of the cold wave is likely to rise further from Tuesday midnight, said an official of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
In Dhaka it was recorded 12.5 degrees Celsius yesterday, but it felt biting due to windy weather. The moderate cold wave is likely to remain for next two to three days, said the Met office.
Especially, low-income people have been the hardest hit in the cold. Meanwhile the dense fog has also been disrupting movement through roads and waterways.
