Birth anniversary of Sher-e-Bangla observed

The 141st birth anniversary of veteran politician of the subcontinent Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq was observed across the country with due respect on Sunday. To mark day, different political and socio-cultural organisations took up elaborate programmes including placing wreaths at the graveyard of the great leader, offering fateha and doa, and discussion at different venues.
Sher-e-Bangla Jatiya Smrity Sangsad, Biswa Bangali Sammilon and Proposed Bangladesh Krishak-Sramik Party jointly organized a discussion at the mazar of the great leader on Dhaka University campus.
Eminent lawyer Barrister Amir-Ul-Islam was present as the chief guest while Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique was special guest.
It was addressed, among others, by the former secretary and cultural personality Syed Marghub Morshed, former additional secretary Sirajuddin Ahmed, AwamI League assistant-secretary MA Karim, grandson of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fayezul Haque Raju and grand daughter Advocate Farhana Haque Nipa.
The president of Sher-e-Bangla Jatiya Smrity Sangsad and
Biswa Bangali Sammilon, poet Mohammad Abdul Khaleque, presided over the programme.
