UNB, Dhaka :
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder MP visited ailing sports organiser Sirajul Islam Bachchu at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.
Bachchu, the long-serving member of Bangladesh Football Federation and chairman of its Women’s Football Committee, was hospitalised a few days back with serious Kidney diseases. The junior minister enquired about the health condition of Bachchu and assured him for proper treatment and support.
Additional Director of RB Group (Walton) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, who accompanied Biren Sikder during the visit, also assured Bachchu of standing by him.
NSC Secretary Shib Nath Roy, sports organiser Farida Akhter Begum, general secretary of Bangladesh Body Building Federation M Nazrul Islam and joint secretary of Bangladesh Wrestling Federation Mesbahuddin Azad were also present.
Bachchu, who is still bachelor at 68, is serving BFF since 1996 in different capacities and was elected general secretary of South Asian Football Federation in 2000. He is a life member of Bangladesh Sports Press Association and Wari Club, Dhaka.
