Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque on Sunday asked the government to deploy Army as striking force during the Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls on December 22.
“To create a level playing field for every
candidate and to have a favourable environment for voting, the government should deploy Army in the NCC polls,” Saiful Haque said in a press briefing at the party office on the Topkhana Road.
The Biplobi Workers Party leader demanded democratic environment for all the candidates so that they can campaign fearlessly.
He urged the administration to stop every kind of harassment and threat to voters, polling agents and campaigners of all parties.
He also demanded close circuit camera at every booth of every vote centre and to withdraw all partisan officials from the polls soon.
Advocate Mahbubur Rahman Ismail is contesting in the NCC polls from the party.
