Sheikh Arif Bulbon :Though she could not recall the memory in which programme and when she last rendered a song fully but popular actress Bipasha Hayat still can remember that show was telecasted on Bangladesh Television (BTV).In media, Bipasha became popular as an actress and later as a painter but her other identity as a singer could not proceed up to the mark. In fact, Bipasha’s cultural practice began with music. She taught lessons on music from Ustad Khalid Hossain, Akhter Sadmani, Zakir Hossain, Sanjida Khatun, Mita Haque, among others. But at one stage she detached from music. She later became regular in acting and drawing. On the occasion of Pahela Boishakh Bipasha has returned to her old days, musical arena. For the viewers she has rendered a song of Ferdousi Rahman’s titled Aji bahal koria bajango dotora sundori komola nachey. She rendered the song in a special programme titled Bakbakum Paira produced by Mahbuba Ferdous. The programme will be aired on BTV after 10:00pm news on April 14.While talking about the song Bipasha Hayat told this correspondent, “I rendered the song only to keep Afzal Uncle’s request. Basically I did not get the scope to render song in any programme. Viewers can give their judgment about my performance. But one thing I can say that is I am not for song, I am for song. I never practice music giving priority as like acting or painting. But it is fact that I listen most of the time.”It may be mentioned that in Hanif Sangket’s Ittyadi, Bipasha rendered the song Akash eto meghla jeonako ekla, in Abdun Nur Tushar’s magazine Shuvechchha, she also rendered the song Nitol paye rinik jhinik. Therefore, she also rendered Tapan Chowdhury’s a popular song titled Mon shudhu mon chuyechhe on BTV.
