Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves here tomorrow for Indian southwest state of Goa to join BRICS-BIMSTEC Leaders’ Outreach Summit.
The two-day summit will be held in Goa on October 15-16 with the theme ‘BRICS-BIMSTEC: A Partnership in Opportunities’. The prime minister will leave Dhaka at 8 a.m. by a Biman flight on Sunday and reach Goa at 10.45 a.m. (Indian time) official sources said.
She will attend BIMSTEC Leaders Retreat and BRICS-BIMSTEC Leaders’ Outreach Summit on Sunday afternoon. On the sidelines of the summit, the prime minister is expected
to hold bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Nepalese Premier Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Minister for Science and Technology of India Alina Saldanha, Secretary (cooperation) of the government of Goa Padma Jaiswal and Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Mumbai Samina Naz will receive the prime minister at Goa Naval Airport. Sheikh Hasina will return home on October 17.
