BIMSTEC leaders have urged FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam to take necessary steps for arranging a ‘Trade and Investment Forum’ of the BIMSTEC member countries.
Leaders of BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectorial Technical & Economic Cooperation) made the request at a meeting with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President held at his office here on Wednesday.
The delegation led by BIMSTEC secretary general M. Shahidul Islam also talked about SAFTA and other related issues with the apex trade body leader.
FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam briefed the mission on the current economic development of the country. He also emphasized on introducing ‘Travel Card’ for the business people for visiting around the BIMSTEC member countries.
