UNB, Dhaka :South Africa-born British citizen Kyle Haywood, the new managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, is going to take over on January 5.”The new Biman MD will assume his office on January 5,” AM Mosaddique Ahmed, a director of Biman, now serving as acting managing director and CEO of the national flag carrier, told UNB.Haywood, managing director of Fastjet, a low-cost South African carrier, served in traditional carriers such as British Airways and Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia. He also served as the CEO of Air Uganda.According to the Biman sources, the new MD has submitted a three-month prior notice to the organisation he is currently working for.Haywood, Biman’s second foreign MD, has initially been appointed on a one-year contract which has the provision of extending his service.
