Staff Reporter :The Detective Branch (DB) of police has found link of 50 more officials and employees of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in gold smuggling.The detectives smelled their imnvolvement after interrogating Biman’s detained Deputy General Manager Emdad Hossain and four others over gold hauls. The suspected people, from female flight attendants to top officials of Biman, are now under surveillance of the DB. A high official of the DB told media on Friday morning that they had conducted separate raids in the city theprevious night to arrest some of the suspected but the drive went in vain. An AL MP taking floor in the House on Thursday blamed the incumbent Biman chairman for his alleged involvement in this misdeed. About 1500 kilograms gold worth of Tk 700 crore was recovered from the country’s airports in the last one year, sources in Customs Intelligence Department said.
