Biman Bangladesh Airlines has become the title sponsor of the upcoming Bangladesh-Afghanistan T20 cricket series scheduled to take place in Dehradun, India from June to 3-7.
The series will be named as “Biman Bangladesh Airlines Bangladesh-Afghanistan T20 Series”, said the national flag carrier in a press release on Friday.
Three T20 matches will be held in Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Dehradun on June 3, 5 and 7.
All the matches will start at 8:30 pm Bangladesh time.
Biman has rich tradition of patronising sports in Bangladesh, the release added.
It sponsored the international cricket match of Bangladesh cricket team with MCC in 1977. It was also proud sponsor of ICC Trophy Champions Bangladesh team in 1997.
Biman’s cricket team played first division and premier division cricket leagues from 1978 to 2008 and produced many national level cricketers for the country.
It has also tradition of supporting chess, table tennis and the badminton team of Bangladesh.
