Biman set to woo more passengers

The National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BBA) has taken a set of proactive measures with a view to improving the faltering economic condition and to regain its lost glory, sources said.
Under the initiatives, the BBA authority brought a massive changes in-flight services to upgrade images and announced “Biman Holidays” to boost up country’s tourism sector as well as to encourage the holiday makers for in-and-out-bound travel.
Besides, participating in travel fairs in different countries and giving passengers lift from home to airport as per requirement as well have been included in the new design.
On the other hand, under aged single traveler and senior person would get special assistance while travelling by Biman, the sources informed. However, the BBA has started providing the new in-flight services to all international flights from 26th March under which travelers would get international standard tasty foods, diabetic foods, kid’s food and many more.
The new drive also includes, all day dining for the business class travelers which would enable the travelers to choose their foods what and whenever they like during flights.
Besides, BBA also decided to update all of its services in every three months based on customers opinion and recommendations. It also planned to bring changes to entertainment systems in all international flights.
“We have decided to bring massive changes in all of our services and to upgrade those to the international standard,” said A M Mosaddek Ali, Managing Director and CEO of BBA.
“BBA for a long time has been providing foods in a number of internationally reputed airlines like Kathe Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, Dragon Air and Turkish Airlines. So, from now on we will provide the international standard foods to our customers also,” he disclosed.
He also informed that the national flag carrier has a set of brand new Bo777-300 ER and boing 737-800 new generation aircrafts to ensure a noise free and error free flight services.
However, the national flag carrier BBA has opened a new window dubbed “Biman Holidays” aiming to boost up country’s tourism sector.
The new window would offer travel services to additional 96 routes apart from the Biman’s scheduled destinations, hotel booking, discount at hospitals and more others along with bank EMI facilities.
Biman Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) A M Mosaddique Ahmed inaugurated the services at a ceremony in the Biman’s headquarters “Balaka” on Tuesday.
The biman holiday package has been decorated with varieties of offers and facilities. Under the scheme, travelers would get special discount in the renowned hospitals in India, Thailand and Malaysia while lowest rate booking in 350,000 hotels of different countries and all hotels in Bangladesh.
Travelers also could avail ticket and holiday packages from the biman holiday wing with bank EMI facilities. Anyone can book these packages at BDT 999 which is also refundable. Country’s six leading banks would offer the EMI for ticket and holiday packages.
On the other hand, under aged single traveler and senior person would get special assistance. Passengers under packages would also enjoy mobile SIM card, recharge facilities and baggage lost-and-find facilities as the one-stop service.
Moreover, a passenger after buying ticket from biman holidays would be given lift from home to airport as per requirement as well as ‘meet and assistance’ service by dedicated staff. They would also enjoy holiday lounge’s food and beverage. In addition, all the
passengers under the programme would get visa processing assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, Biman CEO said Biman Holidays would participate at the travel fair in different countries to draw attention about Bangladesh Tourism in globally. “It would also help country branding alongside Biman,” opined Mosaddique Ahmed.
