UNB, Dhaka :
The High Court here on Monday rejected the bail petition filed by Biman Chief Engineer (production) Debesh Chowdhury in a case in connection with the glitch in a VVIP flight
carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
A two-member HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Shahidul Karim rejected the petition as not pressed, since the chargesheet of the case has not yet been presented.
Advocate Subrata Chowdhury argued for Debesh, while Deputy Attorney General Farhad Ahmed and assistant attorney general Yusuf Mahmud Morshed represented the state.
Talking to reporters, Debesh said as police did not press any chargesheet of the case, there is no scope to get bail, adding that they will apply again after the chargesheet is prepared.
A Biman flight carrying the Prime Minister had to make an emergency landing at Ashgabat International Airport in Turkmenistan on her way to Budapest on November 27 following low oil pressure in its engine.
