Biman carries 25 lakh passengers on Kathmandu route in 43 years

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has celebrated its 43 years of operation to Nepal declaring that it carried nearly 25 lakh passengers on the Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka route so far.
The national flag carrier started Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka flight operation as its 4th international destination in 1974.
“Since the inception in 4th January in 1974, the Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka route remains one of the profitable destinations of the national carrier. So far we carried 25 lakh passengers on the route,” said Shakil Meraj, Biman’s General Manager (PR), while speaking at a celebration function in Kathmandu on Tuesday night, said a press release.
Biman’s Director (marketing and sales) M Ali Ahsan addressed as the chief guest at the ceremony where Biman awarded five top travel agents based in Nepal. Ahsan said Biman became popular to the tourists as it offers quality service with cheap airfare. Currently, Biman is operating its brand new Boeing 737-800 ER aircraft on Dhaka-Kathmandu route every day to offer more pleasant trip to its valued passengers, he added.
