Biman Captain elected as VP of IFALPA

Captain Ishtiaque Hossain, a commander of Boeing 777 in Biman Bangladesh Airlines, has been elected as the executive Vice-President of IFALPA for Asia Pacific Region.
He was elected through direct voting at the 72nd Annual Conference of the World Pilots’ Community, International Federation of Airline Pilots Association (IFALPA) held in Montreal, Canada, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines press release said in city on the 9th instatnt.
This is for the first time in the history of aviation that a sub-continent airline pilot is elected in the highest post at IFALPA annual conference, it said.
IFALPA, the Global Voice of the Pilots’ works closely with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) a specialized agency of the United Nations Organization and International Labour Organization (ILO).
Captain Ishtiaque Hossain also the first Bangladeshi who is a full member of ‘International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI)’ a United States-based sole organisation specifically created for the air safety investigators and the aircraft accident prevention professionals of the world.
He is one of the pioneer airline pilots of Bangladesh who has international accreditation as an Aircraft Accident Investigator (AAI).
He was the Regional Vice-President Asia/West for consecutive 3 terms before he got elected for this new post of Executive Vice-President.
