Biman cancels domestic flights

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has cancelled 10 domestic flights on daily routes over the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic.
The national flag carrier’s Managing Director Md Mokabbir Hossain on Thursday confirmed their decision, and added that anyone who have already bought tickets in these flights will be refunded fully.
The suspended routes are Dhaka-Jessore-Dhaka, Dhaka-Barisal-Dhaka, Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka, Dhaka-Saidpur-Dhaka, Dhaka-Rajshahi-Dhaka, two round trips flight for Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar-Dhaka and Dhaka- Chittagong-Dhaka.
Earlier in the day, Biman cancelled all flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in line with the decision of the United Arab Emirates till March 31.
On Wednesday, the national carrier had suspended all flights to and from Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia.
On Monday, Biman also suspended its flights to Oman as the country clamped a travel ban on all foreigners.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar had suspended all flights with Bangladesh due to the pandemic that has killed more than 9,000 people around the world since late December.
