2nd Div Cricket: Biman beat Royal Cricketers by 92 runs

Biman Bangladesh Airlines make a flying start in the Metropolis Second Division Cricket League beating Dhaka Royal Cricketers by a huge 92 runs in one of the two opening day’s matches at the Dhanmndi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday
The national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, batted first after winning the toss and were all out for 173 runs in 38.5 overs with Mehedi Al Hasan scoring 74 runs and Mahmudul Hasan 34 runs.
Meraj Mahbub and Mohammad Farid grabbed two wickets each for 26 and 30 runs respectively.
In reply, Dhaka Royal Cricketers were bundled out for 81 runs in 28.2 overs with Mohammad Farid making 21 runs.
Arif Hossain, Mehedi Al Hasan, Sujon Sikder and Nowroz Iqbal took two wickets each for 9, 11, 13 and 15 runs respectively.
In the day’s other match at Fatullah Outer Stadium, Udayachal Parishad defeated North Bengal Cricket Academy by 46 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, Udayachal Parishad scored 211 runs for 8 wickets in 49 overs with Saikat Hossain and Golam Mortaza scoring 60 and 45 runs respectively.
Maksud Alam claimed three wickets for 37 runs while Azam Arman and Nawshad Iqbal took two wickets each for 27 and 46 runs respectively.
In reply, North Bengal Cricket Academy were all out for 165 in 46.3 overs with Shahadat Hossain and Zaker Ali Anik making 59 and 28 runs respectively.
Abdullah Al Mamun captured four wickets for 25 runs while Zahid Hasan grabbed three wickets for 9 runs. A total of 24 teams, split into two groups, are taking part in the league Participating teams:
