A motorcyclist was crushed under the wheels of a speeding train at Banarupa level crossing in the city’s Khilkhet on Wednesday morning.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Sub-inspector of Kamalapur Railway Station Rafiqul Islam said the accident took place when the victim was crossing the Banarupa level crossing around 9:30am, leaving him injured on the spot.
Later he was whisked off to Kurmitola General Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
