Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh has formed its new committee sans its President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, Secretary General Abdul Mannan and Senior Joint-Secretary General Mahi B Chowdhury.
The new committee has Dhaka University Professor Nurul Alam Bepari as President and Advocate Shah Ahmed Badal as Secretary General of the party.
Both the new president and the secretary general of the party were Presidium members of the party.
The new committee of Bikalpa Dhara has decided to return to Dr. Kamal Hossain led Jatiya Oikya Front.
Nurul Amin Bepari and Shah Ahmed Badal disclosed it while talking to the reportersat the National Press Club on Friday.
Shah Ahmed Badal was relieved from the party of October 13 for his support to Jatiya Oikya Front.
Nurul Amin said, the three top leaders of the party were expelled due to their stance against the people of the country.
He said, Major (retd) Abdul Mannan was removed from his position because of his involvement with corruption.
“No corrupt individual can occupy a position in this party,” he said.
“Through this announcement, I am clarifying that the new committee is the main force of Bikalpa Dhara. Anyone outside this committee is our opposition,” Badal said.
Shah Ahmed Badal said their committee is temporary. The full committee will be formed soon.
He said, “For 14 years, Dr Badruddoza and Abdul Mannan stopped us from doing politics.
“Badruddoza Chowdhury was helpless in front of his son [Mahi]. That is why the leaders of Bikalpa Dhara took this decision,” Badal said.
In his written statement, Badal said Bikalpa Dhara wants to be a part of Jatiya Oikya Front’s efforts to establish a democratic Bangladesh by holding a free, fair and inclusive polls.
Jatiya Oikya Front came into being on October 13.
B Chowdury led Bikalpa Dhara was supposed to be the part of the front. But in the last moment, B Chowdhury was excluded from the front.
