A 17-member committee for the next two years to run the office of the Bijoynagar Press Club has been formed. The previous committee was dissolved and an election was held recently.
Khizir Hossain Pramanik, Upazila Agriculture Officer, acted as the Election Commissioner under the direction of Upazila Executive Officer KM Yasir Arafat. Mrinal Chowdhury Liton (Editor, Weekly Titasbani) and Md. Ziadul Haque Babu (Daily Ittefaq) were elected as president and general secretary respectively.
Other members of the committee are Senior Vice President Shamsul Islam Liton (Bangla TV), Vice President Ashraful Islam Lincon (Business Bangladesh), Joint Secretary Sarwar Hazari Palash (Jugantar), Co-Secretary Shafiqur Rahman Shahin (The New Nation), Office Secretary Tanvir Amit Rajib (Our Economy), Treasurer Kazi Sharif Uddin (Nab Chetna), Publicity Secretary Apurba Dev (Titas Kantha), Library and Cultural Secretary Main Uddin Chishti (Channel S), Executive Member Khairul Kabir (Bijoy TV), Shaheen Chowdhury (Daily Frontier), Nasir Uddin (Nab Chetna), Kazi Nuruddin Rubel (College Campus), Member Kazi Rifat, Jewel Bhuiyan, Rubel Mia and others.
