The ruling Awami League on Wednesday said that people will reject those, who have rejected the results of Khulna City Corporation polls, in next general election.
“BNP-Jamaat are being isolated because of their involvement in widespread corruptions. Big defeat is waiting for them,” AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader said it in a press briefing at the party chief Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office.
Replying to a query that BNP had rejected the results of KCC polls,
Obaidul Quader, the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said that BNP had rejected the people’s choice.
“The KCC election was free, fair and credible, but BNP is trying to create controversy from the beginning. They have rejected the results as their party candidate has been defeated in the election,” he said.
The AL leader said, “If the election was not free and fair, then how the BNP candidate got so many votes? But they were unhappy. The party should leave the policy ‘we agree then when we win, but disagree when we lose.”
He thanked Khulna city voters for electing Talukder Abdul Khaleque.
