She made the announcement at a programme arranged by Bangladesh National Congress at National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday to marking the second death anniversary of Ershad.

Bidisha in her speech said, “I have seen in my family life that Ershad used to think about Bangabandhu. He thought about him (Bangabandhu). I would like to visit the whole country with my two sons holding the party symbol ‘plough,’ keeping the matter in my mind. I want to be with everyone in establishing human rights.”
Bidisha Ershad said, “I was sent to jail through conspiracy. I faced tortured there. My release was made possible by the intervention of the Prime Minister.”
“I have no desire to come to power,” said Bidisha adding that “I want to work for the welfare of the people. I want Raushan Ershad to be the chairman of Jatiya Party for life. We want to move forward ignoring all the conspiracies of the party.”
