The upazila administration has distributed 20 bicycles among poor meritorious students and fishermen and 20 sewing machines to poor women in order to improve the living standards of the small ethnic groups living in the plain land in Barlekha of Moulvibazar.
Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan delivered the keynote address and distributed bicycles and sewing machines at a meeting chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Khondaker Mudassir Bin Ali and conducted by Upazila Secondary Education Officer Hawladar Azizul Islam at the Upazila Parishad meeting room on Monday afternoon. Special guests at the meeting, Upazila Chairman Soyeb Ahmed, District Fisheries Officer Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer. Dr. Ratnadwip Biswas, Livestock Officer. Dr. Md. Aminul Islam, Upazila Fisheries Officer Kamrul Hasan, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Ubaid Ullah Khan, Mayor Abul Imam. Kamran Chowdhury, Dakshinbhag (North) UP Chairman Enam Uddin, Sujanagar UP Chairman Badrul Islam, Daserbazar UP Chairman Swapan Kumar Chakraborty, 7 Number Khasi Punjee Secretary Pilot Marlia and others.
