Bhuban Majhi’ to get its theatrical release in India

“Bhuban Majhi,” funded by the Bangladesh government and directed by Fakhrul Arefeen Khan, is set to get its commercial release in Kolkata. The film received its censor certificate in India on April 20.
The liberation war film starring Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Aporna Ghosh was released in Bangladesh on March 3, 2017.
Since its release the film based on true events has participated in eight major international film festivals and has been screened in numerous theatres worldwide.
The film’s director recently told the press that they had submitted the film for Indian censor a long time ago and just recently received it.
He also said they will soon meet with the distributors in West Bengal and release it in all Bangla speaking regions of India including Kolkata, Assam and more.
The film will be released in India according to the South Asian Free Trade Area (Safta) agreement regulations.
Mamunur Rashid, Shushama Sarker, Quazi Naushaba Ahmed, Majnun Mijan, and singer Syed Waqeel Ahad are also among the cast of the liberation war drama.
