Team Bhuban Majhi is going to arrange an open screening session on coming birthday of late folk singer Kalikaprasad Bhattacharjee
To pay tribute to the recently demised Dohar frontman Kalikaprasad Bhattacharjee, team Bhuban Majhi is going to arrange an open screening session on the occasion of his coming birthday on Sunday(September 11).
The acclaimed folk artist and music director, who composed the songs of the film, died in a road accident near Gurap village in Hooghly district on March 7, aged 47, four days after the release of the film.
According to Fakhrul Arefeen Khan, the director of the film, an audience 400 strong will be able to join the open screening session, which is going to be held at the main auditorium of National Museum at 6pm.
Previously, the team projected the film at an event in India, arranged in remembrance of the late folk singer.
Bhuban Majhi, the government-funded film was released on March 3. The film stars Kolkata’s Parambrata Chatterjee, who plays the role of a spiritual singer Nahir who is inspired by a young lady named Farida, played by Aparna Ghosh, to join the war. Mamunur Rashid, Shushama Sarker, Naushaba, Majnun Mijan, and singer Syed Waqeel Ahad are also among the cast of the film.
Directed by Fakhrul Arefeen Khan, the Liberation War drama has already been screened in international cities including the likes of Canberra, Paris and Sydney.
