Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) earned a profit of Taka 195 crore in the immediate past fiscal 2013- 14.
The amount is Taka 5.78 crore more than the previous year’s profit of Taka 188.99 crore, according to a provisional report of the BHBFC.
Talking to BSS, Managing Director of the BHBFC Dr M Nurul Alam Talukdar said the corporation has registered the success overcoming fund constrains.
“We could have made more profit if we had sufficient funds,” he added.
During the fiscal 2013-14, the BHBFC endorsed a total loan of Taka 285.18 crore while disbursed a total of Taka 388.90 crore with the approved loan.
In the fiscal, the corporation collected Taka 462.96 crore against the target of Taka 538.02 crore including classified loan of Taka 153.89 crore.
The BHBFC report said at present the rate of classified loan stands at 6.50 per cent, which was 9.25 per cent in fiscal 2012-13.
