The people of Bhatiari Union under Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong irrespective of caste and creed demanded not to acquire any lands from Bhatiary union for establishing Naval installations further.
This was disclosed at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club hall yesterday under the banner of Khadimpara Sufferer People.
The speakers in the press meet said a vested quarter is conspiring the destroy the image of the present government through evicting the local peoples from their fraternal lands in the name of acquisition of land for Naval instatallations.
They said the Bhatiary union is a densely populated area where a number of school, madrasa, mosques, mandirs and different types of industrial enterprises are located. The people of the Bhatiary union arranged the press meet with its Chairman Md. Nazimuddin in the chair.
