The residents of Bhatara in the capital brought out a procession in the area on Monday, demanding that the authorities concerned take immediate steps to solve their water crisis.
The people of the area have been facing acute shortage of water for over a month, but the Dhaka Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (DWASA) is yet to take any step in this regard.
The demonstrators alleged that the problem began when new water supply lines installed under an Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded project were activated in the area by DWASA.
Contacted, project director AEAM Sahid Uddin said the crisis caused by some problems in the new supply line works will be resolved very soon.
