BGP hands over 32 Bangladeshis to BGB

Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) handed over 32 Bangladeshi nationals, held in different times, to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday under the extradition treaty between the two countries.
Muktar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, said a team of BGB Battalion-42, led by Teknaf BOP company commander Subedar M Zakaria Alam, went to Mongdo in Myanmar in the morning and received the 32 Bangladeshis around 11:30am.
Upon returning to the country, they were handed over to Teknaf Police Station.
The 32 people were detained by BGP troops in different times, said the OC, adding that they were later sentenced to different jail terms ranging from six months to 28 months.
