Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in a statement on Tuesday said Tuba Group workers will be paid their two months’ dues today (Wednesday).
The rest of the dues will be paid to the workers in ‘due time’ by the factory authorities, the statement
added, quoting the decision of a tripartite meeting among the government, BGMEA and the Garment Workers’ Coordination Council, held at BGMEA Bhaban on Monday.
The five factories of Tuba group are Tuba Fashions Ltd., Bukshan Garments Ltd., Taif Fashion Ltd., Tuba Textile Ltd. and Mita Design Ltd..
The BGMEA statement noted that the workers of the garment factories mentioned above will have to draw the salaries of May and June, 2014 from the BGMEA Bhaban at 9am on Wednesday.
If any employee or worker fails to come to the BGMEA office within the stipulated time today, BGMEA will not take any responsibility for the payment anymore, the statement added.
