The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has donated essential medical equipment to three hospitals for treatment of patients diagnosed with Covid-19.
The medical supplies include 12 oxygen concentrators for Satkhira Medical College; five oxygen concentrators, 10 oxygen cylinders and 30 thousand pieces of face masks for Mohongonj Upazila Health Division; and 5 oxygen concentrators, 15 oxygen cylinders and 30 thousand pieces of face mask for Shafiuddin Ahmed Foundation Hospital, Thakurgaon.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan handed over the medical supplies to the representatives of Satkhira Medical College, Mohongonj Upazila Health Division and Shafiuddin Ahmed Foundation Hospital at BGMEA office in Gulshan.
BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Vice President Miran Ali, Directors Md Mohiuddin Rubel and Tanvir Ahmed and former Director Ashikur Rahman Tuhin were also present on the occasion.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said mass people have to be brought under vaccination to help the country’s economy to turn around and remain resilient. He requested all to follow health safety protocol, especially wearing mask to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection and spread.
Earlier, BGMEA donated 15 high flow nasal cannula and 50 thousand masks to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Dedicated Covid-19 Hospital to meet the needs of patients.
BGMEA, out of social responsibility, has come forward with its support to better manage and ensure critical care interventions for Covid-19 patients.
