Locals clashed with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel at Bagerhat’s Fakirhat Upazila on Thursday during an attack on a polling centre. Two ballot boxes were burnt down during the attack.
Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat district Md Shukur Ali said after the clashes the voting at Satsika Government Primary School centre was suspended. The district’s Superintendent of Police Md Nizam Uddin Molla said at least 15 people including Awami League-backed chairman candidate Sardar Niyamat Hossain, Executive Magistrate Ariful Islam and two security personnel were injured. – bdnews24.com
