BGB unearthed underground house in Moheshpur

The Border Guard Bangladesh(BGB) personnel have unearthed an underground house in a bordering village of Moheshpur in Jhenaidah district Saturday.
The BGB seized a LCD monitor, memory cards, SIM, walky-talky antenna, Indian liquor, a number of empty bottles of contra banned phensedyl syrup, packets yaba tablets, heroin consuming instruments etc. from the possession of the miscreants.
But the mastermind of the activities, as well as the owner of the house Mukul Mia was absconding sensing the presence of the border guards, the BGB sources said.
Abdur Rahman, a resident of the village, also a neighbor to Mukul Mia of Lebutala village said, some unknown people from the other side of Bangladesh frequently rushed at the house of Mukul Mia for past couple of years.
But they did not take it seriously. Further, women from different areas were sometimes kept in the house.
Some Azad, an associate of Mukul Mia visited the house very often, while Azad was killed in a police shootout in Bagherpara of Jessore recently, Abdur Rahman said.
A number of local people said, they could not open their lips as Mukul Mia was very influential in the bordering area.
Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain, company commander of BGB 26 in Jessore when contacted admitted then matter and said, they could not detect the clue of constructing any underground house at the home premises of Mukul Mia. But they were sure that the miscreant had been running some anti social activities in the bordering area.

The BGB had filed a case with Moheshpur against Mukul Mia and the policemen were conducting search to nab the miscreant, the BGB man said.
