Authorities of Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) have planned to set up constituency based outposts in Chattogram to ensure law and order in the upcoming 11th national polls.
Regional commander of BGB Brigadier General Adil Chowdhury said 70 platoons of BGB will carry out their activities in 16 constituencies in Chattogram during the election.
“A dozen of temporary BGB out post are being set up at 10 constituencies of Chattogram while the activities of BGB in six constituencies of Chattogram city and its adjacent areas will be conducted from regional headquarters of BGB Halishahar,” the BGB commander said.
He said in addition to setting up of outposts, the forces of BGB have already been sent to Mirsari, Fatickchari, Sandwip, Sitakundu, Hathazari, Raozan, Rangunia, Boalkhali, Patiya, Anwara, Chandhonish, Satkania and Banskhali constituencies.
Meanwhile, Chattogram regional election commission office in collaboration with police and district administration have chalked out the most risky polling centres in 16 constituencies in Chattgram. of Chattogram police Nur-e-Alam Mina and Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Mahbubur Rahman said they have almost identified the risky polling centres in the district and city. The law enforcing agencies are progressing with outmost alert to conduct hassle and trouble free election.
