BGB starts patrolling on Barisal-Dhaka Highway

Border Guards of Bangladesh deployed at Gournadi for ensuring safety and security of the road transportations started patrol on portion of Barisal-Dhaka highway.
AKM Ehsan Ullah, Barisal district police superintendent, acknowledging the facts, said the BGB will participate in joint operations with different law enforcing agency members to curb terrorist activities on the highway to ensure safe and secured road communications. Prof. Abdur Razzak, principal of Gournadi Government College, said BGB officials informed him that 60 BGB personals camped at this college campus. The deployed BGB personals stationed at Gournadi Government College campus, already started patrol on the highway, said Major Fazlul Karim, commander of the deployed troop.
The deployed BGB commander also told the local journalists that they will meet with the officials of local government, administration and police to discuss about the problems and processes for maintaining safe transportations on the highway.
Shohidul Alam, deputy commissioner Barisal and Lt. Col. Faridduddin Ahmed, commander RAB-8, said five platoons BGB would be deployed in Barisal district to prevent terrorist activities on highways.
Besides personals of Ansar Battalion and Village Defense Party also deployed at 87 spots of the roads and highways in Barisal to help the law enforcers in curbing violence and preventing arson attacks.
Mentionable three persons at Mahilara on February 7, two at Nabinagor of Torki on February 2 and one at Sanuhar of Wazirpur on January 18 on Barisal-Dhaka highway have been killed by the arson attacks on the road transports by the terrorists.
