UNB, Cox’s Bazar :
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members, in a drive, seized yaba tablets worth Tk one and a half crore from the Naf River near Sabrang Acharbonia area under Teknaf upazila of the district on early hours of Sunday.
BGB sources said Teknaf 42-BGB members raided the said area at about 3:30am on Sunday and recovered 50,000 pieces of yaba tablets worth about Tk 1.5 crore. Sensing BGB men’s presence, the smugglers fled from the spot. The seized yaba was deposited to BGB battalion headquarters. Commander of 42-BGB Lt Colonel Md Abu Jar Al Jahid confirmed the incident.
