Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel, in several drives, in last nine months, seized gold, silver, US dollar, currencies of different countries and other goods ,
BGB officials revealed this at a press conference at Benapole on Tuesday.
The seized goods include 12 kilograms of gold, 5 kilograms of silver, US$ 3,65,000, Indian rupee 6,10,000 Tk 5,30,000, 25,000 pieces of Viagra, 700 pieces of Yaba, 22,000 bottles of Phensedyl, 900 bottles of foreign wine and 350 kilograms of cannabis. The BGB filed cases against a total of 280 people during the time.
Lt Col Selim Reza, Commanding Officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion came out with the information at Benapole- based BGB headquarters.
Major Nazrul Islam, Second- In-Command, 49 Border Guard Battalion was also present at the programme.
49 BGB members seized gold, silver, US dollars, Rupees and drugs worth Tk. 77 crore from various borders point in Benapole.

Seized goods are 12 kg Gold, 5 kg silver, 3 lakh 65 thousand US dollars, 60 lakh rupees, 53 lakh taka, 25,000 Viagra, 700 yaba, 22000 Phensidyl, 100 bottles foreign wine and 340 kg of Gaza. At this time, a case has been filed against 280 people. BGB commanding officer has declared zero tolerance against drugs.
