Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) yesterday seized US dollars 30,000 from a currency trafficker at Benapole of the frontier district.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Islam of BGB-21 said, on information, they conducted a raid at Putkhali boarder near Benapole check-post and seized the amount of dollars abandoned by a currency trafficker.
“We could not nab the trafficker as he escaped abandoning the dollars” Ariful Islam said.
The seized US$ 30,000 would be deposited government treasury, he added.
