Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 126 kilograms of hilsa fish while being smuggled through Sarakghat frontier under Bagha upazila in Rajshahi on Friday.
Lt Col Ferdous Ziauddin Mahmud, Commanding Officer of 1 BGB Battalion, told media that some smugglers were trying to smuggle the fish out through the border area by boat. After sensing the presence of the BGB patrol party they fled away leaving behind the fish. Subsequently, the patrol team seized the fish at 8.45 am.
