National Men's Handball: BGB, Police reach final

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Bangladesh Police reached the final of the EXIM Bank 24th National Men’s Handball Championship on Wednesday.
In the day’s first semifinal, BGB defeated Chapainawabganj District team by 42-15 goals at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
BGB led the first half by 21-8 goals.
Sudhan Barua of BGB scored 13 goals and his teammate Bipul Ghosh netted seven goals and their colleague Imdadul Haque scored six goals.
On the other hand, Habibur Rahman of Chapainawabganj District team netted five goals and his teammate Umar Faruque scored three goals.
In the day’s second semifinal, Bangladesh Police beat Bangladesh Ansar by 31-19 goals at the same venue.
Police had a 12-5 goals lead in the first session.
Chinu of Bangladesh Police scored eight goals and his teammate Mahbub netted six goals.
On the other hand, Rafique and Rabiul of Bangladesh Ansar scored four goals each.
Today BGB will face Bangladesh Police in the final at 3.00 pm at the same venue.
After the final match Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mohammad Nasim will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Chairman of EXIM Bank Limited and Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks Md Nazrul Islam Majumder will be present with him as the special guest.
