UNB, Satkhira :A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member was beaten to death by smugglers at Laxmidanri border point in Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.The deceased was identified as Subedar Nazrul Islam, in-charge of Bhomra BGB camp.BGB sources said, a group of smugglers attacked Nazrul and beat him mercilessly in the bordering area while he along with Sepoy Bellal Hossain went to the border point by a motorbike for patrolling at about 8:00 am, leaving him seriously injured.Later, he was rushed to Satkhira Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.Major Nazir Ahmed Bakshi, acting commanding officer of Satkhira BGB Battalion-38, confirmed the incident.
