Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) distributed food and other relief items among the destitute and helpless families in the frontier areas under its jurisdiction in Kurigram and Nilphamari districts, maintaining social distancing.
BGB Lalmonirhat 15 Battalion, in its 3rd phrase food-distribution programme, distributed foodstuffs recently among 350 helpless and destitute families at Taluk Shimulbari Government Primary School ground and Abdul Ghafoor Noorani Hafizia Madrasah ground under Balarhat BOP and Bagvandar BOP areas in Kurigram district.
Each of the families got 4 kilogram (kg) rice, 4 kg flour, 2 kg pulses and 1 packet salt as relief items. Besides, 350 masks and 50 units of hand sanitizer were distributed there.
Earlier, in the 1st and 3rd food distribution programme, BGB Lalmonirhat 15 Battalion distributed relief items to 1,100 families.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Rangpur 51 Battalion in its 4th food-distribution programme, also distributed relief items among 400 helpless and poor families at two different frontier areas under Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district.
The places are: East Chhatnai Multipurpose Girls High School ground and Shubhanganj Mandal Para Government Primary School ground.
Each family got 6 kg rice, 2 kg pulses, 2 kg flour and 1 packet salt of 500 gram.
The food items were given by Bidyanondo Foundation in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
