Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed in Rajshahi ahead of 11th National Parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, the forces have already started their activities relentlessly from today (Thursday) in different constituency areas to avert any untoward situation. The authorities have deployed BGB to assist the administration and they will remain deployed until December 31.
A total of 25 platoons of BGB members were deployed in nine upazilas including Rajshahi city, said Lt Col Tajul Islam, a commanding officer of BGB-1 Battalion.
Besides, extra platoons of BGB members have been kept reserved. BGB is ready to deploy those extra troops in crucial moment, he also said.
