Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members were deployed in the border area of Benapole to prevent corona Infection on Wednesday. BGB 49 Battalion is keeping a close watch in the border area, including Benapole port, since Wednesday night to prevent corona infestation.
The BGB has been deployed in the port area to prevent Indian truck drivers from leaving the port. BGB members are warning people moving in the border areas including the port to wear masks. BGB members are monitoring people who are not wearing masks.
BGB patrols have been intensified across the border to prevent anyone from crossing the border illegally.
Infection of the Indian variant of corona virus has increased at an abnormal rate, leaving India’s health care system out of control.
The virus is likely to spread to Bangladesh through the illegal movement of people across the Bangladesh-India border.
For that, the BGB has identified the Benapole Port area including Sadipur, Bagachara, Gatipara, Daulatpur, Raghunathpur, Ghiba and Shikarpur bordering Benapole as sensitive.
BGB members have taken various measures to prevent illegal movement in the area.
Meanwhile, 49 BGB members have intensified patrolling in the border areas including the port.
These activities of the BGB continue at the border area under the control of the Indian variant of the Corona.
Benapole Police Immigration OC Ahsan Habib said 70 Bangladeshi passengers returned home from India on Wednesday.
They have been kept under police guard in various hotels and guest houses in Benapole and Jashore for a 14-day institutional quarantine.
Lt. Col. Selim Reza, Commanding Officer, 49 BGB Battalion, is visiting the border area on a daily basis. He said such activities would continue in his area to prevent corona. BGB has been deployed in the port area to prevent Indian truck drivers from leaving the port. He expressed his views on regular mobile court management.
