BGB arrests man, seized money, arms at Benapole

Frontier force Border Guard Bangladesh detained a man along with huge amount of money and seized a foreign arm and one round of bullet in two separate raids at Raghunathpur and Saidpur frontiers under Benapole port police station on Wednesday night.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer 49 Border Guard Battalion, told that tipped off the BGB men led by Habilder Mamunur Rashid, commander of Raghunathpur camp, detained Babu Mia,43, of Sarbangadaha village under Benapole port police station along with Tk 64,00,000 while he was coming to Bangladesh using illegal way at around 8:18pm on Wednesday. The money was laundered from India, the BGB CO added.
In another raid, the frontier force seized a foreign pistol and one round of bullet in an abandoned state at Sadipur frontier under Benapole port police station at around 10pm on Wednesday. The arms were taken from India.
Two cases were filed with Benapole port police station in these connections.
