BGB arrests 56 at Benapole while returning from India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh rounded up 65 Bangladeshis after they were entered into Bangladesh through Sadipur frontier under Benapole port police station. The Bangladeshis include 28 male, 16 women, 9 children and three trans- gender.
Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer, 26 Border Guard Battalion told New Nation that the BGB men picked up the Bangladeshis just after they entered into Bangladesh territory from India at around 9:30mp on Sunday. The Bangladeshis earlier went to the neighbouring country for treatment, employment tourism and business purposes’, the BGB official added. The arrested Bangladeshis were handed over to Benapole port police station and a case was lodged with the police station in this connection, the BGB CO further said.
